Kim & Jimbo Cary have been performing and teaching traditional acoustic music for over 20 years at schools, libraries, museums, festivals, and cultural centers throughout Virginia. They have performed at the Kennedy Center and Easter at the White House and for thousands of children and adults in over 50 cities and counties throughout the Commonwealth.
In addition to years of coordinating the music for the Nelson County Summer Festival and coordinating music for the Mountain Music Festival at Wintergreen, the Carys have taught at music camps including Camp Holiday Lake in Appomattox and Kaleidoscope vocal camp in Blackstone, Viriginia.
Based on artistic merit and sound management, the Carys have been selected as touring artists by the Virginia Commission for the Arts since 2000. They have been nominated for the Governors Award for the Arts and in 2003, Jimbo placed first place in the Virginia State banjo contest.
“You both are so talented and do a great job keeping the old tunes alive as well as generating new ones.” —P.A., Montebello, VA
